Dads — The Unsung Heroes
I grew up always hearing praises of the mother - her contribution and sacrifices while raising her kids.
And I always used to wonder - why don't dads do the same for their kids?
Little did I know at that point, that it's even the dads who put efforts in their child's upbringing!
There's no point comparing whose contribution is bigger or better - the mom's or the dad's.
Because both of them have their own role to play in moulding the child and making him a better human!
And that's why, we often hear a single mother say - that she had to be her child's father, to teach him the harsh truths of life!
While your mom fed your the first morsel of food,
it was actually your dad who took you out for the first ride on his scooter!
While you got your first pocket money from your mom,
it was truly your dad's pocket from where it was shelled!
While your mom made your lunch box,
it was actually your dad's sweat and blood that you were chomping off in the name of food!
While your mom packed your school bag,
it was truly your dad who bought the books and the cover!
While your mom always used to wipe your tears,
it was actually your dad who saw to it that you don't need to shed tears in the first place!
While your mom saw you take the first step while you learnt walking,
it was truly your dad who taught you to survive in the outside world!
While your mom used to give in to your tantrums,
it was actually your dad's palpable eye contact that made her cave in!
While your mom prayed for your success and achievements,
it was truly your dad who made sure you learn to stand true to your words and promises!
While your mom gets tired of your continuing outbursts,
it was actually your dad's shoulder that made her give it one more chance before giving up!
While your mom might be soft and sweet,
it was truly your dad's discipline that made you stand out in the crowd!
While your mom works in the front, on the stage in your life;
your dad has been standing behind the curtains to make your stage performance as good as it can be!
While your mom shows you the sweet and tender fruits of life,
your dad helps you face the stark reality!
Dear Dad,
You’ll always be the first man I’ll look up to!
