He chose 'her' happiness over 'his’!
It was a sober, summer evening.
While the world preferred keeping the windows closed and enjoying the comfort of the car's air conditioning, she chose the wind over her face.
The car was moving, the wind gushing in, blowing over her face, and the strands of hair playing over her face.
When he saw her from his moving car, all he could see was her partly lit face, strands of silky smooth hair covering her temples and ears, and adorning this face; a beautiful dimpled smile.
While her car was racing, he struggled to catch up with his racing thoughts.
He saw the smile on her face, but at the same time, her hope filled eyes caught his attention.
She was waiting; with hope, with faith, with patience.
For what? He had no idea.
But it was then that he realised, that if she could look this serene and calm even while she was waiting, how amazingly content and pretty she would seem when she'll have all she wants!
The moment he laid her eyes on her; he had a deep longing for her, for her faith, her patience and her positivity.
He had no idea about her life or her struggles. Neither had he any idea about her desires or wishes.
And despite that, at that very exact moment, he prayed for her - for all her dreams and wants to come true.
While he wanted to win her heart and marry her, he wanted that pretty dimpled smile on her face, etched in his heart. And that could only be, when she gets all she aspires!
While he wanted to know her, he also wanted to love her.
And in that split second, he decided that loving her was way more important.
Loving her unconditionally, without any demands in return, without any expectations.
Five years later, today; he realised that, had he not prayed for her wishes to come true that day, he could have stood a chance.
For, she was waiting for her lover - the one she had given her heart to.
She had no idea that, while she was waiting for the person she had lost her heart to; there was somebody who had lost his heart to her!
If that day, he had chosen his wildness over her calm, she would have been his passionate lover today!
If that day, he had chosen his longing over her patience, she would have been sitting next to him and sharing her life with him today!
If that day, he had chosen 'his' love over 'her' love, she would have been his wife today!
Isn't it cynical?
The man who chose 'her' happiness over his own, is sitting alone at a coffee table in the lavish lawns of his villa; while 'she' is happily smiling and cooking her man's favourite breakfast in their small rented apartment.
How ironical is life!
It makes us believe in the power of selfless love; while teaching us courage and patience, all the while making us practise hope and faith!
It makes us believe in the resoluteness of destiny; while teaching us the importance of actions and decisions and choices that we make at every single step!
